Kuala Lumpur: Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd update its information technology infrastructure (IT) to enable the integrated media handling up to 100,000 direct viewing (live streaming) coincides with the smooth.Chief innovation officer (CIO), Brian Lenz, said the capacity was specifically developed by Astro for Astro's latest service On-The-Go (AOTG) Worldwide, which saw service in the air directly on the day of the launch in Melbourne, Australia, last week.

Lenz said Astro services On-The-Go Worldwide improving existing services launched in Malaysia in May last year that are now accessible by anyone around the world, on the mobile device of choice, at any time. It is not limited to Astro subscribers only.
Lenz who moved from the Sky, a provider of broadcasting services, satellite broadband and telephony based in the United Kingdom to join the Astro Malaysia at the end of 2011, said in addition to identifying new technology, his main task for the moment is to improve existing IT platform to enable Astro the final product with a neat and robust produced.
Meanwhile Rohana said Astro On-The-Go Worldwide enables broadcasting companies that reach a wider customer, thus becoming the market leader in the region.

Astro has advantages
Astro said, have an advantage because it is not only the provider of the content but also created and produced the content owners.
He said due to 70 out of 170 broadcast channel is Astro, this facilitates packaged content.

Astro Services On-The-Go was initially offered to customers Malaysia in May last year and doing well when record revenues more than 500,000 views and 400,000 application downloads
