Panasonic posting positive sales


Panasonic Systems Asia Pacific (Panasonic) expects sales growth in the laptop and tablet suit its dominant tough for the current financial year ending March 31, up more than 30 percent. Toughbook Director for Asia Pacific, Satoshi Mizobata, said the expectation was based on the positive sales to government and private sector.
"For the financial year ended March 31, 2012, laptop and tablet sales rose 30 percent over the previous year. It clearly shows the line laptop models and rugged tablet Panasonic are increasingly in demand in Malaysia, "he said after a media briefing and introduction of new models of laptops, the Toughbook CF-C2 in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. Mizobata said although Malaysia market smaller than Indonesia and Thailand, but it has potential to grow in line with economic growth in a variety of industry leading to an increased demand of its products. He said the company will focus on several industries for markets including healthcare, aviation and automotive industries has the potential to be tapped. "For the Malaysian market, starting this year, we will focus on the private sector as it is yet to be tapped from the government sector to be the largest segment of the company's sales," he said. Currently, Panasonic staked six rugged laptop models are divided into three types, namely Fully-Rugged, Rugged and Semi-Rugged Business other two tablet models (Toughpad). Meanwhile, the Toughbook CF-C2 under Semi-Rugged type, introduced yesterday, becoming one of the most flexible model and durable designed for the healthcare, aviation and automotive industries. Using the operating system Windows 8 Pro, this multipurpose model still retains its hold as waterproof and sunlight, long battery life, as well as rugged. Comes with screen high-definition (HD) 12.5-inch size, it uses the Intel Core vPro i5-3427U and size of main memory is eight gigabytes (GB) and 320GB hard disk size. With wireless internet connection, CF-C2 weighing about 1.78 kilograms, be a solution to automotive engineers, technicians, aviation and healthcare experts in performing daily tasks. In addition, the durability of the battery up to 11 hours (six-cell battery) and 15 hours (nine cells) to meet the needs of long-term assignments than regular laptops. Toughbook CF-C2 priced from RM7, 000 to RM8, 000 depending on the different types of industrial applications
