China earthquake tremors felt in HK



HONG KONG: An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 rocked southern China in Guangdong province before noon felt thousands of residents in Hong Kong.


Monitoring Department of Hong Kong, said the earthquake that rocked southern China was also felt 180 kilometers north of the country concerned.
"People feel the tremors while in their homes and report objects hanging outside their house sound for a few seconds," said the department's scientific officer, Leung Yin-kong here today.

Following the incident, more than 5,000 residents to contact the agency to report the shaking involved.

   However, no reports of damage received.
