Maxis fresh free unlimited data


Maxis Bhd became the first national telecommunications service provider that offers unlimited free data package to use the web and social applications such as Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp.

It follows the launch of the social media edition prepaid plan, Hotlink Social Edition that offers cost calls and short message service (SMS) and internet service social media site without limit at a competitive price.

"We are confident that this will be a prepaid plan received overwhelming response from the market of prepaid telecommunications plan in the country due to various beneficial to the consumer.

"In the near future, we expect the Hotlink brand reinforcement and feedback will observe other telecom players to ensure we remain relevant offerings with the launch of more innovative services in the future," he told reporters after launching the Social Hotlink Edition in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Also present were General Mobile Products & Services International, Jeff Chong and Central Region Maxis Berhad Chief Christopher Chua.
The new prepaid plans also offer 1GB data quota from 2 am to 7 am through RM10 Hot Ticket.

"To call and SMS, this plan offering low prices especially from 2 am to 7 am, according to the trends of the younger generation who like to chat with friends late at night," said Chong.

On average, every Malaysian spend a third of their time to connect friends through social sites or applications, making Malaysia among the top list of social media usage in the world.

Currently, 46.9 percent of the 28.5 million people in this country have a Facebook account and two million have twitter accounts from just 3,000 in 2008.

Suren said the package prepaid sim card that is already in the market from today and Hotlink prepaid plan users only need to purchase an existing Hot Ticket to capitalize on the new plan.
